The pain in my right wrist did motivate the purchase. Working the pen is not without its strains but it works with different muscles so I don't feel the pain that comes when I use the mouse.

The Bamboo is a good choice but it lacks one important feature that I think the Intuos provides: the ability to switch screens. With multiple monitors, Bamboo users must either choose a monitor, or squish all screens onto the tablet, or select an area of the desktop to map to the tablet surface.

How are the wrists? Was getting a pen tablet motivated by your medical condition?
